The Quantitative Analysis Of The Regional Economic Disparities And Coordination Degree Of The Yangtze Economic Zone

In recent years,with Coordinative Development Strategy of the regional economy and the re-emergence of the Yangtze Economic Zone,more and more people have begun to concern about coordinated development of inter-areas economy of the Yangtze Economic Zone.However,the fact is that there have been enormous economic differentiations between different areas in the Yangtze Economic Zone,which has seriously hampered coordinated development of the economic zone as a whole.Therefore,how to shrink regional economic disparities of the Yangtze Economic Zone is crucial in order to achieve the coordinative development of the regional economy of the Yangtze Economic Zone.In this regard,this paper,using methods of coefficient of variation,Theil index and Separation index etc,explores the characteristics of the regional economic disparities of the Yangtze Economic Zone on both time and space aspects,and evaluates the economic coordination degree of the Yangtze Economic Zone of time serials from Regional Economic Integration to Regional Economic Disparities and Regional Economic Growth Rate respectively.Structurally this paper includes four main parts.The first part(ChapterⅠand chapterⅡ) is the Introduction and the connotation and theoretical review of the regional economic disparities and coordinative development of interregional economy;The second part(ChapterⅢ) is the quantitative analysis on the regional economic disparities and the coordination degree of Yangtze Economic Zone;The third part(ChapterⅣ) analyzed the reasons which caused the big economic disparities among the three areas of Yangtze Economic Zone;The fourth part(ChapterⅤ) studies the ways to speed up coordinative development of interregional economy of Yangtze Economic Zone.The main arguments are:First,the economic disparities between the eastern,middle and western areas of the Yangtze Economic Zone had been expanding year by year;second,it accounted for the major part on disparity of the total Yangtze Economic Zone's and with a trend in spatial aspect,that separated those three areas year by year,third,the economic coordination degree of the Yangtze Economic Zone had reached a higher level in recent years;however the entire economic zone could not achieve the coordinative development of interregional economy because of the enormous economic disparities among the three areas.Through analyzing the traffic and location conditions, it has also been found that policy guidance,infrastructure conditions,industrial distribution conditions and human capital conditions etc were main reasons which caused the big gap between the three areas of the Yangtze Economic Zone that should be considered more to optimize industrial distribution and speed up integration process of the Yangtze Economic Zone in order to hasten the coordinated development of the regional economic of the Yangtze Economic Zone as a whole.The main innovation of this thesis:First,using large amounts of data,several main characteristics and trend of economic disparities between three areas of the Yangtze Economic Zone on both time and space aspects have been successfully explored;Second,using regional economic coordination evaluation method,time series values of the total coordination degree have been evaluated,then the conditions of the coordinated development of the regional economy of Yangtze Economic Zone have been revealed.
