Sustainable tourism must be a responsible tourism, travel agencies as one of the pillars of the tourism industry must assume the social responsibility. Research on corporate social responsibility at all levels has been widely carried out in the field, the relevant theory has also been applied to tourism enterprises, but research on social responsibility of travel agency is basically blank. The object and content of social responsibility are the most fundamental issues in theory and practice of corporate social responsibility. This thesis researches systematically on the object, and content of social responsibility in travel agency, based on the research of corporate social responsibility, and combined with the actual cases in travel agencies.In order to sort out the object and content of social responsibility in travel agencies, based on researching corporate social responsibility, and to define the object of social responsibility in travel agencies by means of the theory of tourism stakeholders, as well as to analyze the related literatures in international tourism organizations and reports of social responsibility in international well-known travel agencies, this thesis proposes social responsibility lists in travel agencies as well as proposes the content framework of social responsibility in travel agencies by means of the same technology line. On this basis, investigating on the travel agencies in Changsha city, a capital city in Hunan province, and the recognition of object and content that tourists towards the social responsibility in travel agencies, this thesis analyzes the current sense of social responsibility in travel agencies as well as compares to the cognitive differences between travel agencies and those tourists that is one of the most important related to the stakeholders.This thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapterâ… is the introduction, including the background of choosening this thesis's topic, literature review, and research purpose and significance. Chapterâ…¡establishes the object lists of social responsibility in travel agencies, analyzing on the object of social responsibility in travel agencies from theoritical and practical part. Chapterâ…¢defines the contents of social responsibility in travel agencies, and proposes content framework of social responsibility in travel agencies.
