With five years of operation,Gangcheng Natural Gas Co.,Ltd has entered a stage of stable development.During this period,its internal and external environment has undergone constant changes as well.Gangcheng Natural Gas Co.,Ltd is confronted with both good opportunities of development and various threats.Therefore,how to formulate development strategies of taking advantages to grasp opportunities and overcoming disadvantages to avoid risks is the key to the company's continuous success.Based on the systematic analysis on strategic management theory,this article combines macro-and-micro qualitative analytical methods and quantitative ones level by level and does systematic research on Gangcheng Natural Gas Co.,Ltd in an effort to seek the most suitable development strategies for the company.First of all,the article adopts PEST analytical method and the model of Porter's five competitive forces as well as extemal factors evaluation(EFE)matrix to make analysis and evaluation on the company's competition situation in the macro-environment.It contends that the company's opportunities mainly come from the support of the state and the municipal government,the developed industries in the city and price advantages of the natural gas and other alternative energy sources.However,the shortage of natural gas resources and operation costs caused by the construction of reserve gas resources will pose great threats to the company's further exploration of market.Secondly,through objective analysis of the company's internal resources and conditions as well as internal factors evaluation(IFE)matrix,the article contends that main advantages of the company come from business concession and broad market.Its main disadvantages lie in the following aspects.Its distribution capability of pipeline network needs to be further upgraded.The utilization of gas in two large-scale industrial consumers is too concentrated.At present,no reserve gas supply is constructed,which is extremely detrimental to the stability of distribution,peak load and emergency. Thirdly,it builds SWOT analytic models of the company and adopts qualitative analysis and QSPM to determine the strategies of the company for its stable and robust development.Then,under the guidance of strategies of stable development,it makes and determines the development orientation,strategic objectives and emphasis in the next three years.Finally,considering the uncontrollable changes of the environment,it anticipates potential risks in the operation process and puts forward relevant measures.
