Presently, the insurance salesmen in China manage approximately 60% of the premium of commercial insurance. However, their general low levels of personal quality and unpleasant social image are now an objectively existing problem. In order to heighten the quality of business and protect the benefits of the insured, it is becoming a crucial issue to provide the insurance salesmen with continuing education, which will improve their basic qualities and highly regulate their professional behaviors. Nevertheless, the procrastination of rule institution and their unbalanced attention between transaction and regulation have made the continuing education not so satisfactory. Not only does it do harm to the construction of the sales team, but also it is bad for the continued development of the insurance industry. And now, it has captured the attention of the supervisory committee.Based on the theories of education and management, this paper introduces some basic definitions of insurance salesman and the development course of the sales' system. This paper also discusses the distinct continuing education problems existing among Zhejiang insurance salesman. This paper analyzes the inner cause of the problem from the point of the insurer, the supervisory committee and the insurance salesman, pointing out the necessity and importance of continuing education for the salesman. Multi-level mode of continuing education is described based on the investigation of insurance salesman continuing education in Zhejiang province. Suggestions, such as to advance the quality of teacher management and perfect the evaluation of continuing education, are given to improve the results of continuing education and strengthen the quality of the sales team, ultimately leading to a healthy insurance industry.
