| In 2007, The container throughput of Shenzhen port was ranking fourthly in the world. Notably, Western Shenzhen Ports contributed over half of the amount. With the help of IBM, China Merchants Holdings International Co., Ltd. made a strategy analysis and planning by the end of year 2007. Based on its rich experience of strategy planning in IT industry, IBM provided a guide for CMHI to make its port network layout strategy. Displayed by the throughput data of Shenzhen port which closed September 2008, the container throughput of Western Shenzhen ports is keep increasing. And the growth trend of Western Shenzhen ports is much stronger than Eastern Shenzhen port, YICT. Thus, its meaningful to make a research for the construction of information system in Western Shenzhen ports.Firstly, the thesis described the background of China Merchants Group; include its important status and business operations. Then it introduced the consist of unit CMHI and the port strategy of CMHI. The thesis summarized the Logistics Information Systems in Shenzhen Western port by listed the structure of the application system, which include container terminal operation system, e-declaration system, EDI platform, the interaction system of port and logistics park, etc.In the first step, the thesis uses analytical method of SWOT to research the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of Shenzhen Western port Logistics Information Systems development. Then it exercises Boston Matrix to bring forward advices for the farther construction. After that, the thesis analyzed the result of customer satisfaction survey which based on the EDI platform of Shenzhen Western port by using tool software SPSS. The analysis results provide the positive judge of information services of EDI (Electric Data Interchange) platform which is dominated by China Merchants in Western Shenzhen ports.Finally, according to the information system framework of modernization port, the thesis made the plan about developing West Port Of ShenZhen City Logistics Information Systems and provided project implementation planning. All the analysis results provide useful reference value for the manager level of CMHI to implement its port extension strategies. |
