Study On The Strategy And Model Of Walnut Industry Development

Walnut, the main cultivation of fruit trees which is one of the world' s four major types of nuts, is both an ecological and economic benefits of ecological resources. Based on the survey of walnut industry development, the status and problems of walnut production was analyzed with the method of the empirical analysis and technical evaluation of the economic benefits. Combination of practical, the development of the meaning, principles, ideas and goals of walnut industry prospects was explained and the corresponding development of countermeasures and models was proposed.1 Shanyang which has unique climate, well nature conditions is the best suitable region for walnut growth. With the local attention and support of government and rich land resources, better technology, and good basis for the masses in Shanyang, it has a broad prospects and certain advantage to develop walnut industry.2 At present, there are several existing problems in walnut industry .(1) Farmers thinking behind and lacks the sense of participation ;( 2) because of the intermixture and degradation of variety, the quantity and quality of walnut both declined;(3) the inappropriate selection of site caused the drop of production (4) Industrial development was limited with the shortage of funds (5) Disease and pests was so serious that prevention work was difficult to do ;(6)the widespread phenomenon of green swept influenced walnut quality; (7) Service system was not perfect and technology extension was slow;(8) too slow step in developing walnut processing industry induced the low economic benefits.3 In order to speed up the development of walnut industry, several measures should be taken. (1) Strengthen the propaganda; fully understand the importance of the development of walnut industry (2) In connection with reality, the full implementation of the five major projects (3) Intensify our efforts and do a good job in pest control (4) Harvest in a right time, strengthen the harvest management. (5) Regulate the distribution and improve the industrialized service; (6) Establish enterprises and develop the product processing; (7) Encourage innovations, and explore new types of industrialized development pattern actively;(8)Implement the responsibility and strengthen the organization and leadership; (9)Rely on science and technology, and provide technical insurance measures. 4 The main development approaches of walnut industry in Shanyang County are as follows: (1) Use industrialization to propel development approaches; (2) Fine variety demonstrates the development approaches; (3) Development approaches of improving yield and quality of walnut by using integrated scientific management; (4) Development approaches of increasing the Walnut specialized households; (5) Development approaches of using the high-grafting and optimal transformation technology.5 The main development patterns of walnut industry in Shanyang County are as follows: (1) Planting models (the old economic district development model, dwarf and close planting,high-yield cultivation model, courtyard ecological economy model and large row spacing and dispossession intercropping model); (2) Organization models (the economic cooperation model of "company and farmer", the achievement extension model of institution-locality cooperation).6 In order to development the walnut industry in Shanyang County, the implementation of improved variety plantation, high-grafting and optimal transformation, systematically integrated scientific management and intensive management, can greatly relieve the contradiction of too many people and less land in mountainous area, and so is of great significance to adjust industrial structure, increase farmers ' income rapidly and accelerate economic development in Shanyang rural areas.7 The walnut industry in Shanyang County is a ecological and economic industry with great potential which can promote the positive interaction of the forestry industry. Not only can it increase farmer's income and develop local economy, but improve the ecological environment. Therefore, it is a characteristic industry that can realize both ecological and economic benefit and sustainable development.
