With the improved socialist market economy, accelerated development of the petroleum and petrochemical industry, the supply chain management of petrochemical SMEs has received a lot of attention from both academia and industry due to its significant economic impact. Stemming from the exploration of the sustainable development of the enterprises, the concern about the issue of the SCM, and the consideration of the SCM gap between the domestic enterprises and the international corporations, to keep up with the trend of deepening reform and reorganization in the petroleum field, the dissertation discusses the research status of the supply chain reengineering, the theoretical foundation of the SCR, the evolution of Chinese petrochemical industry, the supply chain status of Chinese petrochemical SMEs, the both domestic and oversea success experience of the SCM, and the SCR strategy for Chinese petrochemical SMEs.Firstly, this thesis reviews the literature of supply chain reengineering systematically. The research of SCR started from BPR, with the development of the SCR theory, the SCR modeling, and the SCR application, the system of SCR formed. But these works did not employ historical perspective to study the reason and the result of SCR, paid little attention to the reengineering of the supply chain network and the process industry. This paper's exploration is a remedy for the deficiencies.Secondly, three different types of study are employed to explore the SCR mode of Chinese petrochemical SMEs. First, we use the rational analysis based on theory to deduce the supply chain node formation by Transaction Cost Economics, Resource/Capacity-based Theory, and the Theory of Labor Division; deduce the supply chain node relationship coordination by The Game Theory and The Fractal Theory. Second, we use the gradual search based on history to review the evolution of Chinese petrochemical industry's supply chain, analyze the drivers of its transformation. Next a questionnaire is designed and analyzed to recognize the supply chain status of Chinese petrochemical SMEs. Third, we use the analogical reasoning based on experience learn from domestic and foreign enterprises arrange from petrochemical industry to manufacturing.Thirdly, a supply chain model of node formation and a supply chain game model are introduced to demonstrate the feasibility of the strategy. Then based on the previous chapters, the SCR strategy for Chinese petrochemical SMEs is proposed. At last the strategy is applied on Henan oilfield as an empirical analysis.Finally, by reviewing the whole paper, some basic conclusions and innovation is presented, and recommendations are gave for future work.
