Study On The Development And Strategy Of Dalian Port-vicinity Industry Clusters

In recent years, the international trade of China has been growing quickly and the port-vicinity business has been on its way to higher development. Along with the continuous improvement of port throughput and the development of modern logistics, the function of port in China has been transferred from a simple cargo station into a complex system. The port and port district are not only freight stations, but also have commercial, trade and industry functions. With the opening up of China's coastal cities, port-vicinity processing industry has become into a new and effective mode of economic growth. Therefor, almost every port city has built up port-vicinity industrial processing zone in the port area, which supplying the port area with full opportunities and competitive advantages. Nowadays Dalian port has been developing rapidly and building Dalian into an important international shipping centre of Northeast Asia is the urgent requirement of both China and Northeast Asia. Therefore, Dalian should take full advantage of its unique port conditions and port resources, catch and hold the opportunity of international industrial transfer, accelerating the development of heavy chemical industry and maturing port-vicinity industrial cluster.This paper comprehensively expounds the concept of port-vicinity industrial cluster and related contents. Firstly, it sums up the enlightenments for the Dalian port on the basis of analyzing the development of port industry cluster in Rotterdam, Japan and Shanghai. In Chapter three, it forecasts the throughout of Dalian port, then uses grey correlation analysis to analyze the affection of main port-vicinity industrial on Dalian's GDP. Then it discusses the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in developing port-vicinity industrial cluster of Dalian port, using SWOT analysis method, in order to study the significance and the feasibility for Dalian port developing industrial clusters. Chapter four of this paper analyses and evaluates the concentration level of industrial clusters, according to the development of Dalian port, gives the future developing direction of port-vicinity industrial cluster. Finally, this paper proposes some countermeasures for the development of Dalian port to the industrial cluster, with a view to provide a theoretical basis and guiding significance for planning to various enterprises and government.
