The Master of Management Peter F. Drucker pointed out that knowledge is the most valuable resource in Post Capitalism. The core of modern companies'competitions lies in the competition of knowledge competition. Those knowledge workers who own and create the resource of knowledge distinguish themselves significantly from the common labors, and companies are attaching more and more importance to them. How to retain, use and encourage knowledge workers has become the most important and urgent issue in the field of management in nowadays.However, knowledge workers' education experiences, economic status, job characteristic need as well as the unique characteristic that the environment gives them to in entire their growth experience will affect their demand structure, and made it very different from other employees. They have the greatly strengthened self-awareness. They have a much higher need than other employees to feel that they're contributing to a larger whole and that their organization is doing meaningful work. Their requirements for salary and welfare are more abundant. They often serve the organization in the form of "team work", therefore wish eagerly to have harmonious interpersonal relationships and effective communicative channel even more. They need relatively free organization environment to stimulate their creativity. All above, made the knowledge workers' motivation factor quite complicatedConsequently, we need to clear the structure of knowledge worker's demands, and then analyze it to find the key point. The theory of Quality of Work Life (QWL) is just the one which thinks the problem from an overall situation. It measures all the demands that knowledge workers has, including material ones and spiritual ones, objective ones and subjective ones. What it emphasizes is not how to grasp at the value of workers to serve the company, but to create a win-win situation between the organization with high efficiency and the workers with high quality of work life.The research systematically studies the structure of knowledge worker's QWL by using a combination of theoretical discussion and empirical study. It goes through related theories that has been proposed in detail, proves the importance that QWL has to the knowledge worker. Based on that, it makes a brief probe into the factors influencing the demand of knowledge worker's QWL, gets all dimensions'and index's weights and orders, and finds that knowledge worker differs in some of dimensions and indexes because of the difference among individuals'characteristics.
