Research On Scientific System Of Academia Sinica (1924-1949)

In the first of 20^th century, a panel of Chinese patriotic intellectual studying abroad returned to establish academic groups in succession and to be engaged in scientific pursuit to achieve the goal of"Science saves the Nation"and a powerful nation. Whereas, owing to the shortage of unified leadership and management in the scientific field, these scientific organizations presented a messy and out-of-order state without forming a harmonious and ordered cohesion. Until in 1928 the Academia Sinica's establishment broke the situation of each organization doing alone. The Academia Sinica relying on the status of the highest academic institute in the period of the Republic of China advanced scientific research on one hand and give the guide, the communication and the rewards of the scientific cause in the whole country to urge the Chinese academy gradually into standardization.Although the Academia Sincia only existed over 20 years from its establishment to disintegration, it completed the nationally academic system construction. Besides, the duty of academic access belonged to access commission and academic entities were all the research institutes. This system stood for the formation of scientific institutionalization in modern China. Thereout, the author follows the thread of the scientific system of the Academia Sincia to research the great contribution of the Academia Sinacia on the tough and winding way of academic development. The thesis consisting of four parts entirely relates the development process of the National Academic Sinacia, the scientific system and the discipline practice in order to show the Academic Sinacia to have the important status and historical significance in Chinese scientific and technological history. Meanwhile, through the review and analysis on the Academic Sinacia, the thesis can summarize some experience and lessons so as to provide some police-making references for the reform of scientific research institutes and correlatable policies of science and technology in our country.
