The research aims to explore the structure of occupational well-being for Chinese employees. Although many scholars have studied the causes and consequences of occupational well-being, there is no general agreement on the indicators of occupational well-being yet, thus preventing the accumulation of comparative data and deterring the development in the area. Previous theory and research has overemphasized environmental factors and ignore the impact of personality dispositions or mental processes. In addition, some occupational well-being scales developed by westerners are not very suitable for Chinese. Therefore, it's necessary to study the occupational well-being indicators based on western and Chinese studies. And this part sets up a good foundation for future research. The study can be divided into two parts. The first part summarizes the research fruits of well-being and occupational well-being. Then the author interviewed employees and put forward indicator system. This part is the base of the whole research. The second part develops a scale measuring occupational well-being and establishes a seven-factor model of occupational well-being through item analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The reliability of coefficient of the whole scale is 0.928, and the reliability coefficient of each sub-scale is above 0.70. It means the seven-factor model is appropriate and the scale is reliable. |
