With the rapid development of computer networks, Electronic-commerce, with its high efficiency and low cost, has created a new business ecosystem, and is showing a more and more obvious trend to be a main device in international trading. However, compared to developed countries, China's E-commerce market, which has great developing potential, is still in an early stage. The key bottleneck restricting China's E-commerce all the time is how to make payment process of online transactions safely and effectively. The breakthrough of the constraints has become not only the most difficult problem and bottleneck in development cared by the industry, but also a hot spot and focus to academic researchers.Based on the collection and summary of the current theoretical discussions on the online payment system of E-commerce, this paper aims to make a theoretical and empirical analysis on the mechanisms of third-party payment for E-commerce, to point out that the third-party payment mechanism is an effective way to solve credit problems in E-commerce transactions, to analyze the problems in existence about domestic third-party payments model, and to put forward some policies and advices to make third-party payment a roll booster in E-commerce development.Firstly, the paper reviews the relationships between E-commerce and online payment, demonstrating online payment a key factor of E-commerce as well as a inevitable developing trend. At the same time, the paper elaborates the concept and significance of the third-party payment, and analyses the current situation of it in China.Then, this paper argues, in the theoretical perspective, why third-party payment an ideal solution to the credit and payment problems in E-commerce transactions, and points out the appearance and development of third-party payment meet the market requirements.Based on the preceding part, the article focuses on analyzing the transaction process and characteristics of China's third-party payment platform, in the meantime the operating modes of third-party payment companies in current market are boiled down to three types: independent third-party gateway mode, third-party payment gateway mode with electronic transactions platform as well as security assuring functions, third-party payment gateway mode supported by electronic trading platform. Also a comparative analysis on their respective advantages and disadvantages is given.Finally, from the aspects of financial risks, laws and regulations, technical risks, credit and ethics, this paper presents the existing problems in China's third-party payment at present, and brings forward a number of advices on regularizing construction of third-party payment platform in order to accelerate a rapid and healthy development of E-commerce in China.
