Although production and demand of felt paper & paperboard increased dramatically in recently years, the gap between China and developed countries is still big in the Pulp & Paper industry. Fewer and fewer available resources and worse and worse ecological environment have become limiting factors in the Pulp & Paper industry. Furthermore, the government has set out many polices on resources and environment protection. This means that the Pulp & Paper industry has to reduce energy consumption and waste production. Meanwhile, the fibrous raw material supply can not keep pace with the growing demand from and development of the Pulp & Paper industry. Therefore, the sustainable way to develop the Chinese Pulp & Paper industry is to reduce recourses and energy consumption.Knowledge economics changes the competitive balance, in which knowledge exerts a significant effect on the development of enterprise and improvement of society. Knowledge management is becoming a new tendency in the Pulp & Paper industry because it can improve effective use of limited resources and reduce costs which ultimately increase profits. So effective knowledge can use the green technology in Pulp & Paper industry processes and reduce pollution. If the Pulp & Paper industry can use knowledge management properly, there is no doubt that this can recover the limited resources and can benefit the Chinese Pulp & Paper industry in the long run.According to the above situations, this article is focused on new knowledge management and emphasizes the resources of enterprise knowledge. From the view of knowledge management, the paper analyses the Pulp & Paper industry and presents some processes for knowledge management in Pulp & Paper. Then the paper sets out a knowledge management evaluating system; the outcomes of this research then match the theoretical predictions we set out. This study includes seven parts: Chapter 1: Introduction - illustrates the research background, significance and technical channel. It points out innovation in this research.Chapter 2: Review - forms a view on the related literature. It establishes the foundation for further discussion.Chapter 3 - describes the knowledge of pulp and paper enterprises in detail, and based on this analysis, it analyses the conditions required to support the implementation of knowledge management, and analyses the process of knowledge management.Chapter 4 - establishing an evaluation index system of the knowledge management level for the pulp and paper enterprise. It describes the principle of establishing indices, analyses of the evaluation index, and establishes an evaluation index system.Chapter 5 - choosing an evaluation method of the Knowledge management level for the pulp and paper enterprise. Based on instituting of three methods used, and based on the characteristics of pulp and paper enterprises and knowledge management, it selects fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method as the methodology used in this study.Chapter 6 - case Analysis. The results of the case analysis showed that the knowledge management of pulp and paper enterprise is still in the initial stage.Chapter 7 - Study conclusions and recommendations. It summarizes the work, evaluates the limitations, and proposes further research.
