The Study On Interregional Digital Divide Evaluation In China

In recent years, as the trend of economic globalization has continually increased, digital divide is becoming a global problem in the information age, which has drawn increasing worldwide attention. Though China's informationization develops rapidly, digital divide in China is the same unavoidable problem which can not be ignored. This paper takes the research on interregional digital divide as the objective point and analyzes the actual situation of digital divide among 31 provincial regions in China.With the development of informationization in China, this paper at first proposes the relevant definition of China's digital divide and on the basis of the definition, establishes the evaluation system of interregional digital divide in China. And then on the basis of multi-indicator system, this paper does the corresponding research on the evaluation methods, which are the multi-level principal component analysis on the evaluation of 31 provincial regions in China and uses secondary cluster analysis to classify the result of the evaluation. Following that, this paper analyzes the situation of interregional digital divide in China through combining the result of principal component analysis with the result of cluster analysis, explores the reasons of interregional digital divide in China and puts forward some countermeasures to reduce digital divide. Finally, this paper gives a summing-up on the research and discusses the next research work.
