Lean/6 Sigma Integrated Operation Management System Design In M Company

This article studies two kinds of operation management models, which are very popular currently– Six Sigma (6σ) and Lean manufacturing. M company integrates these two models and applies into the process reconstruction and organization redesign. Through the integration, a new operation management system design has been created. This operation management system design is to integrate Lean manufacturing to optimize the whole supply chain management based on the process/quality control by 6 Sigma, including the optimization of raw material purchase/supply, production master plan arrangement, xcvr build plan, receiving/shipping control, etc. The upgraded supply chain management is high effective to realize Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) at lowest cost, best quality and rapid response. Meanwhile, a lean operation system has been setup to meet the key essence of zero loss, zero defect, and total employee involvement internally; And quality management system follows and achieve 6 Sigma criteria strictly. The integration of these 2 management systems realizes a high effective supply chain management system, which covers every area in the whole company.During the design of new operation management, M company fully utilizes the advantage of M company internal, 6 Sigma and Lean, then integrates them flexible to generate a set of high effective lean manufacturing mode with 6 Sigma management in mobile phone industry. The integration of Lean/6 Sigma results a fully supply chain management including manufacturing internal, suppliers, end customers, distributors and 3PL, etc. This new manufacturing model is an innovation in mobile phone industry and provides a lot of important theories and experiences for any other industries. These experiences are very useful and valuable for any enterprises to import advanced management system and advanced manufacturing model.
