The Research And Appraisement Of Urban Competitiveness

21th century is the urban century.The competition between countries is shifting to the competition among cities.With development of national economy,especially, with progress quickly of urbanization,the function of city is more and more outstanding in the development of national economy and district economy.Under the situation that the domestic and international everyone are contesting the resources and rob and racing to control of economy system madly,it is more important that how to advance the city competition ability,to strength the ability of attract various economic resources,speed development of city economy,get the drop on others.At first,the article introduces the study about the concept of urban competitiveness.On the basis of the study,the article generalizes the concept and characteristics of the urban competitiveness.Secondly,follow definite principle,this paper brings forward an index system which generally and externally reflects the urban competitiveness in Western provincial cities.This index system has confirmed five major systems of urban competitiveness:economy,opening,infrastructure, science and technology and environment,then confirms 44 first class evaluation indexes.Through collecting relevant data,analyzing the data by the SPSS software, this article reaches the cities′competitiveness score and ranking.On the basis of the study,analyzes the result of competitiveness between Hohhot and western provincial cities.Confirms the position of Hohhot in the competition and analyzes the key influencing factor in competitiveness.Finally,on the strength of analysis,the article puts forward the concrete policy recommendations that will promote the synthesized competitiveness of Hohhot in the future.
