Research On Urban Competitiveness Of Quanzhou Compared With Other Cities Of Fujian Province

In recent years,cities play more and more important roles with the continual evolution of our new-type urbanization.In the our urban-rural dual structure,the city is far away from the rural in the aspects of economic scale,infrastructure,human capital,health level and education,which is also an important economic power to drive the poor rural to become rich.Whether the city develops or not plays a decisive role on the target of comprehensively building the moderately prosperous society and even realizing the great rejuvenation of our country.So,driving the rapid development of the city and promote the competitiveness of the city has an important strategic significance.Firstly,in the aspect of evaluation index system,this paper constructs an index system aiming at Quanzhou according to the representative index system put forward by domestic and overseas scholars and Quanzhou development features.The system includes six primary indicators such as macroscopic economic strength,fiscal and financial ability,enterprise competitiveness,infrastructure and equipment construction,intelligence and science and technology level,ecological environment competitiveness.With the further study,this six primary indicators are subdivided into 42 second indicators.Secondly,in the aspect of studying method,urban competitiveness levels of nine cities are compared by using factor analysis,gray correlation analysis method,SVM.Then the evaluation results of urban competitiveness of three different methods are performed a consistency test using the Kendall coefficients.The results show that these three different results have consistency,thereby the fuzzy Borda combination method can be used to analyze the data collected.The final fuzzy Borda values of urban competitiveness of nine cities of Fujian province are computed and ranked.The results show that:(1)Quanzhou is always ranked third in factor analysis,grey correlation analysis method,SVM method and the fuzzy Borda combination method and ranked second in three-stage DEA method.(2)enterprise competitiveness,especially the second industry scale plays the most important role in Quanzhou.(3)the uncoordinated of industrial structure and the imperfection of government administrative mechanism hinder the development of Quanzhou.(4)Quanzhou may stimulate economic growth though adjusting industrial scale instead of depending on investment under the current market.(5)striving for policies supporting,developing economy of scale,improving the system of talent pool and solving the environmental pollution are import measures of realizing sustainable development and promoting the competitiveness of Quanzhou.Finally,this paper analyzes the Quanzhou developing features and makes and puts forward some suggestions to promote the competitiveness of Quanzhou.
