Automatic meter reading system (AMRS) is a high-tech electronics product used for solving current artificial meter-reading problems of electricity distributors. With more and more investments concentrating on automatic meter-reading system in recent years, this product will have a good market future. The author have been working mainly on research and development (R&D) and project management of AMRS in GD Long Yuan Electrical Company (GDLYEC) for many years, and is responsible for marketing of this product at present. On the basis of good known on R&D, production and marketing strategy about AMRS of GDLYEC, the author analyzed the products sells and market environment, marketing strategy status and shortage. Applying theories of marketing, economics and enterprise strategy, the author makes use of analysis, charts demonstration, and the 5-competition model of Mike Baud to analysis the system on the basis of actual investigation, and brings forward the marketing strategy in the article. A marketing strategy is proposed on the basis of above analysis.
