| Along with the fast growth of Chinese economy, competition in the telecommunications market is becoming fierily and fierily. Human resources have become one of the key success factors of a telecom company. And performance management is one of the most important functions of the human resource management system. The purpose of the performance management is to improve the performance of the company through the enhancement of the employee's performance, and this does help to improve the core competence power of a company, which plays an important role in realizing the strategic target of a company. How to design a set of scientific performance management system, which can also suit for the strategic development of company, is what company must be faced with. Therefore, this paper intends to give a practical study on the design and application of Key Performance Indicator System for a branch of China Netcom, one of the major telecom sevice providers in China. This paper proposes the basic theories and knowledge, which relate to performance management firstly. Second, it analyses the current status of a branch of China Netcom, and draws the conclusion from the problems of a branch of China Netcom lie in aspects of performance management. On the basis of the above, and with the specific performance management of company, the paper provides a suggestion on the design and application of Key Performance Indicators System for the branch of China Netcom. |
