Information security is the key for enterprises to survive and grow in the era of information, and security itself not only relates to IT systems but also relates to all the business processes, everybody in every department and all the systems and data in the enterprise.As a major branch of information security, identity management is critical to enterprise. Identities, which include employees, customers, business partners and business processes or services that may access other resources, are the most proactive information assets of the enterprise they belong to, and it is a hot topic for a global company to manage and utilize identity resources to achieve strategic advantages. The identity management market grows very rapidly, but the market, including enterprises and the vendors, tends to believe that a company will be safe with identity management project implemented by IT department. However, more and more studies and compliance regulations imposed by governments indicate that it is more about management issue like auditing, internal controlling etc..In the thesis we line up security management of information systems, enterprise resource management and corporate governance, and study how to create enterprise identity management model from strategic angle, and discuss reasonable implementation methodology. The article suggests that enterprise build up dedicated organization group to help to manage the strategic resources and, therefore, keep the enterprise develop continuously and healthily.
