The Comparative Study Of The Level Of Urban-Rural Integration Of The Western Region And The East Region

In the western region, it is an important content of the large-scale development of the western region , achieving comprehensive economic and social coordination and sustainable development and actively striving to build a harmonious society to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and to coordinating urban and rural economic development .So it is practically significant to estimate the level of the western urban-rural integration scientifically and objectively, to understand the gap between the western and eastern regions and to achieve overall urban and rural development.Firstly, on the basis of analyzing the theory of home and abroad urban-rural integration, most of the current researches on urban-rural integration have not yet formed into mature theories and are still being explored. Secondly, the connotation, the main content and the dynamic mechanism of evolution of urban-rural integration are outlined on the basis of analyzing the concept of urban-rural integration. Thirdly, the domestic and international practice experience and inspiration are summed up to attach importance to the development of agriculture ,establish well-development transportation system and take cities ,small cities and towns harmoniously develop. Fourthly, urban-rural integration estimate index system is constructed and principal component analysis and cluster analysis is used to compare the level of urban-rural integration of the eastern region and the west region taking Shaanxi Province and Zhejiang Province for example. The conclusion tells us that the urban-rural integration level of the majority of cities in the western region are at a very low level. Fifthly, the constraints of the west urban-rural integration process and the measures to promote the west urban-rural integration are outlined. According to the western urban-rural integration status and constraints, around the core of promoting urban-rural integration process of western region , governments should considerate six aspects of establishing equal institutions and mechanisms, taking the road of sustainable development, improving agriculture industrialization, strengthening education support, developing township enterprises and establishing a city economic zone to drive the development of the west urban-rural integration by the government policy.
