Mining land reclamation has been developed fast in China in recent years. Especially the land reclamation which aims to the health of ecosystem and the environment security has attached much importance to the government gradually. Based on these, the study of mining land utilization and coordinated mechanism in mining cities also became more and more important. At the same time, the sustainable development of mining area and the construction of harmonious mining area have been to the study direction for many researchers. It is one of the most valuable problem to focus on, that studying on the mining land utilization and coordinated mechanism in mining cities to minimize the effect of the mining to the environment, to coordinate the relationship among the environment, economy and society development and to make the economy of mining area develop sustainable.This paper take a mining named Wu'an as an example to point out the land utilization characteristics, landscape and the mining landscape and to indicate the result and the effect degree of the mining to the land utilization by the change index of the land use structure, information entropy, fractal dimension and stability index. And it evaluated the coordinated degree of the mining land utilization in the mining to point out the coordinated degree of Wu'an. Then it makes some suggestions and directions of development.The study indicated that the disorder degree of the land utilization structure has descended a lot because of mining activities during the year of 1996 to 2005 in Wu'an. And it also indicated that the highest value of information entropy exists in the mining area, so do the increased fastest one in the past ten years. Meanwhile this paper calculated and analyzed the landscape index of land utilization in Wu'an which reveals that the land shape index, fractal dimension, landscape contagion index declined, the pixel density and landscape patched index increased which means the degree of the landscape contagion is low in Wu'an. Result from the human interference of mining and constructing, the landscape blocks shaped inerratic, dispersed and decomposed into small pieces. Based on the former researches, it evaluated the coordination of the mining land in Wu'an. The evaluation showed the land and environment security goes backward and the mining activities do not coordinate with the land utilization, ecosystem security and the sustainable development. In a word, the harmonization degree is on the primary level. This paper suggested that macroscopically control and reconstructions microcosmic should be done for the mining land to make the utilization harmonious and development sustainable in Wu'an. The specific measures as follows. Putting the mineral resources use planning and the land use planning into executions scientifically which will ensure the mining land structure evolve reasonably. Optimizing the land use structure effectively by means of ecological restoration and reconstruction of depleted mined land could make the mining land utilize effectively and synthetically. And it suggests constituting the systems of cycle economy in mining area to make the mineral economy and the ecosystems develop continually.
