Since the 1980s, strategic alliance has prevailed all over the world. The form of strategic alliance is various. Non-equity strategic alliance is a partnership which is established by contract, doesn't involve equity participation of other enterprises, and is essential to the development of enterprises in China. However, instability, the most outstanding characteristic of non-equity strategic alliance, constrains its further development. Through the theory and reality, we find that poor choice of partners is the internal cause of instability of non-equity strategic alliance. Under this background, the paper, which belongs to a part of the Doctor Fund Projects of Education Ministry, studies the factors of partner selection based on the stability of non-equity strategic alliance.On the basis of previous studies, the most profound exploration of this paper is that it combines the stability of non-equity strategic alliance with the factors of partner selection, and then does research on their relation through the quantitative method. This is an improvement of the traditional research on stability problem of strategic alliance. At first, this paper summarizes the domestic and international research results on stability of strategic alliance, non-equity strategic alliance, and partner selection criteria. And then, it puts forward three important partner selection factors that affect stability of non-equity strategic alliance in terms of its characteristics: reputation, similarity, and ability of dealing with external changes. Meanwhile, the paper proposes three assumptions based on these theoretical analyses. To prove these assumptions, the paper searches and analyzes a large altitude of literatures in order to bring up indicators depicting the construction of various factors, and form a questionnaire. Through several surveys of small samples and large samples, this paper rectifies the questionnaire continuously, which provided a guarantee for further research.In the aspect of data analysis, this paper uses SPSS 11.0 for the first exploratory factor analysis of small samples to delete the sub-standard indicators and form a preliminary form factor. Based on the analysis, this paper optimized questionnaires and conducted a large sample questionnaire survey and analysis. With the help of SPSS, the reliability test of various indicators enhances validity and reliability of the questionnaire. Then it applied LISREL8.7 to conduct a confirmatory factor analysis of the fitting degrees of various-stairs factors model, indicators of distinction and validity of degrees, conduct a detailed validation and analysis. After that, this paper verified the total model structure, and got a conclusion according to the results of the analysis. It proved that reputation of alliance enterprise has significant positive impact on the stability of non-equity strategic alliance; similarity between enterprises has the insignificant positive impact on the stability of non-equity strategic alliance; ability of dealing with external changes of alliance enterprise has significant positive impact on the stability of non-equity strategic alliance.Finally, this paper analyzes the results of empirical analysis, and then proposes some advices for the factors of partner selection of non-equity strategic alliance. At the same time, the paper brings forward research prospects in terms of the inadequacies of the study.
