Social capital and employment research has become one of the hotspots that scholars pay much attention to recent years. In Chinese society, social network plays an important role in the process of employment. However, most of these studies focus on social capital and employment problem, while litter has been done on the in-depth study of social capital and employment quality. Based on survey data from the residents of hangzhou, This dissertation describes the distribution of the city residents'social resources and explores the effect of social capital on employment quality of the city resident.The study show, the city residents have more extensive social network and richer social capital. Influential factors of the city residents'social capital include sex, human capital, family background and so on, human capital is more important than family background in influencing quality of social network, the function of ascriptive factors is weakening but it doesn't disappear. The notable positive correlativity between social capital and employment quality of the city residents: rich social capital can help residents improve income, job satisfaction and so forth.According to the conclusions, the study tries to analyze the characteristics of social capital in terms of social transformation and the effects of social capital and human capital on employment quality. Finally, we also discuss accumulation and limitation of social capital.
