In 1995,Levi's had decided to end much of its business dealings in China because of what the company called pervasive human rights abuses. The action raises the ethical issue of how Western companies should approach China.The question of whether or not respect for worker's rights will ever affect the larger political arena is difficult to answer. But people believed, ethical workplace standards should be demanded by all Western multinationals. As they said, in the end, this is to the benefit of Chinese society.Ten years later, we still can find many companies are operating in China where there is either bad or weak public governance and administration, lack of public transparency, high levels of bribery and corruption, inadequate environmental,safety and labor standards,all of these create new risks in the society.For such a background, it has great realistic meanings that we study corporate social responsibility in China. This article was divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction, it mainly states the proposition of the question and it study background, review the theory correlating with corporate social responsibility.The second part mainly introduces the panorama of CSR (corporate social responsibility) in China. And then explain CSR in western countries via German and Japan. Analysis existed problems in today's China, and give four example cases which conduct by MNCs and China local companies.The third part is the CSR influence factors analysis. Discuss CSR on government administration, corporation frame disfigurement, economic/benefit evaluation mechanism and participate in international standard.The last part gives the suggestion on the basis of above, and take a simple summary of this research.
