The worship on dragon has a long history in China and presents in multitudinous forms. Dragon Dance is one of them. Dragon Dance has traditional features and spreads among people in different nations and areas in China. Dragon Dance of Tuchengzi town, in Keshiketeng County of Inner Mongolia is famous for its bright characteristics, and most dragon dancers are Hui nationality. The sacred ceremony that has Chinese tradition before the dragon dance reveals the essence of this activity, that is, people want to draw support from dragon' s power to bless the harvest of farming and the safety of their neighborhood. Meanwhile, the obturation and conservative characteristics of Dragon Dance embody the common social ideology and the mentality of the masses. Under the effects of the market economy, it becomes a kind of amusement rather than a custom. The transformation shows that Dragon Dance tries to change its function in order to obtain the right of continuing its life. Taking the Dragon Dance of Inner Mongolia as the object of study, this article is to probe into its ways and reasons that the custom of dragon dance was introduced in and the characteristics of its skills' transmission. Meanwhile, this article turns dragon dance custom to the subject of folklore, analyzes the self-identity of subject's role and the tendency of local culture in the background of the strengthening of the subject's mentality.
