With the rapid development of the information technology, the world entered into an information and globalization era. The business environment has changed fundamentally in these years. The traditional management methods seriously restricted the enterprises' development. We must re-examine the forms of organization and the operation models to increase ours management capability. For recent years, along with the development of open-up policy, especially the WTO entry, Chinese companies have been facing more and more higher pressures and difficulties from competition from international and domestic markets and internal existing old system. How to change this situation and find solutions are very important for companies. Improving the integrative capability of competition is important for any enterprise that is pursuing for survival and development.To strengthen and enhance the competitive advantages is critical for the company to win in the competition, Business Process Reengineering (BPR) as an new innovative management concept is considered an important strategic method to acquire competition advantages. Business Process Improvement (BRI) is a further development of BPR from wide application and practice, it promote to optimize the existing processes in the company gradually and step by step, has been adopted by many companies with great positive results, it helps company avoid the high risks from radical and complete change proposed by BPR.In this thesis, we focused on the application of BPI in Eastern Industrial Ltd (Shanghai). It introduced the reasons and processes of BPI systematically, first identify the processes which are deadly needed to be improved, such as process for quotation, supplier selection and evaluation, manufacturing processes, through detail analysis of current status, find out the problem and design new and optimized process. In addition, it introduced the design of new and more suitable organization structure and compensation system to support the successful implementation of the new processes. Hopes to provide good example for companies in China who plan to carry out BPR or BPI.
