In recent years, "content-oriented" and "closeness to the general public" have always been regarded as the guiding principle for reforms of newspaper. Besides the continuous renovation in paper media, "popularization" is still a word frequently used.Lots of researchers hold the opinion that mass culture has been brought into an inevitable context with commercial characteristics. Within such a context, how will professional academic discourse survive? Actually academic discourse has become more accessible to ordinary people, for whom the access to knowledge has become more flexible, and the consciousness for discourse power has become vague. In the past ages, there was definite order of ranks between the academy and the mass. Academic circle was placed in the dominant position for education and enlightenment, while the mass was placed in the receptive position. However, the demarcation between the two has been blurred, and they are now influencing each other. There are not many discussions about this issue both at home and abroad. It should be noted that developed countries have formed a system for disseminating knowledge and information, while our own country's academic discourse seems to be encountering barriers that cannot be totally eliminated. It should be emphasized that it is necessary to distinguish academic studies from popularization, but it is inappropriate to separate them totally. We should keep it in our minds that academic studies will not be well conducted without associating with the mass. A typical example is the academic studies in the Qing Dynasty. They reached a glorious period, but later dwindled for being separated from the mass. Academic studies are something not only to be exchanged within scholars, but also to be enjoyed by the mass. Thus both improvement and popularization should be taken into account. Simultaneously, the public-oriented popularization should depend on solid research knowledge and should not be taken as nothing to do with academic. What to be popularized without value will not need to be popularized, nor will attract the audience. The main purpose of this thesis is to explore the academic discourse popularization, the improvement of the public-oriented popularization and elimination of communication barriers between scholars and the common public.
