| Through using the tools of Discourse analysis to show the specific appearance of scientism in network communication of science, the essay brings to light the hidden power relations between the nation, the media and the science communication from the perspective of objectified analysis, to fill the lackness of researching scientism in science communication from the micro-level. The essay mainly studies on how the scientism affects the science communication works in China to become its immediate crisis, how the meaning of scientism changes under the Chinese contemporary context, how scientism expresses itself in network communication of science.Based on the word frequency analysis, meaning analysis and Discourse analysis, the essay tries to explain the word "science" that appearing in the political discourse, the media discourse, and analyze the scientific discourse in network communication of science. It is discovered that science has a status in China----it is praised by the nation and the media highly. But the scientism seems to be more cryptic in the field of science communication:in the nongovernmental scientific discourse, it has access to form antagonistic relationship among the science, the scientific community and the masses through the "split mode", highlighting the superior status of the science and the scientific community; in the official scientific discourse, it associates the science and the scientific community with important issues such as the national politics and development through "associate mode", or beautifies the image of scientists to emphasize that the scientific community possesses high social status through "beautified mode". Therefore, scientism hasn’t disappeared in the science communication. Relying on the power of the political discourse and the media discourse, it is influencing the values of the masses silently and intangibly, hindering the development of the science communication which means equal and interactive in modern sense. |
