After the foundation of People's Republic of China, in order to finish the socialist transformation of private ownership, the central government launched agricultural cooperation movement on the basis of land reform. By the end of 1956, China had finished its agricultural cooperation already. The process of agricultural cooperation could be divided into three phases, with corresponding emphasizes and characters respectively. At that time, there is common understanding as well as divarication among Chinese chief leaders. This paper consists of three parts. PartⅠis retrospections on the basic historical events of agricultural cooperation, which sorts original material and is used for the latter development of consideration and writing. PartⅡinduces the divarication and debate in agricultural cooperation movement. The author examines standpoints, perspectives, and affirmations of each representative figure. The divarication mainly rests with perspectives of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi, Deng Zihui, Zhou Enlai, Chen Yun, in cooperation movement. PartⅢtries to conclude object lessons and development rule of agricultural cooperation. It is the core part of this paper, and the value of this paper is reflected in this part. The standpoint of this paper lies on countryside construction, because that cooperation movement centered on countryside problem, while we are carrying on new countryside construction at present.Chinese agriculture reformation has undergone more than 50 years since the foundation of People's Republic of China in 1949. Chinese agriculture had undergone a brilliantly period at one time since reform and opening up. However, it comes forth quite a good deal of new circumstances when it enters into the new century. It is very necessary for us to draw lessons from agricultural cooperation movement in order to provide reference for the development of agriculture. In China, the issue on how to develop Chinese countryside would not be out of date for all time.
