Poverty has always been one of the major elements affecting world peace, stability and development. In order to eliminate poverty, Government of each country has taken various policies and corresponding actions to improve the living conditions of its people. The world has witnessed China's tremendous progress after its reform of nearly three decades. China's rising can be attributed to many factors, among which Tourism development is undoubtedly a successful way. Taking one of those examples which had reduced poverty through Pro-Poor Tourism developments—Hongyan Village, Gongcheng county of Guilin Municipality , which has gained many benefits from its tourism development. This thesis is aiming to do some analytical research on its developmental model and effects from an economic perspective. Through which some rewarding theories are expected to be summarized.The first three chapters in this thesis include Introduction, Tourism development practices at home and abroad and the background information of Hongyan village. Poverty-aid Tourism has its profound backdrop and theoretical foundation, by referring to those varied experiences, this thesis will make detailed and complete comparative analysis on the development practice in Hongyan village. Being a poor village depending on the national aid in the past, Hongyan now has become rich and famous by developing its eco-agriculture and countryside tourism, at the same time, its distinctive model of Tourism development has taken into shape and begun to influence other areas.Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 bring you to the introduction of its development model and the analysis of its development effects of Hongyan. With the help of adopting different kinds of analytical methods such as field survey method, literature method, demonstration method and qualitative and quantitative method, Information gathering, analyzing and evaluating and further analyzing of the radiative effects to its surrounding areas have been done by integrating theories of correlative beneficiary, IER effect, lifecycle of scenic spots, ecology and sustainable development. With the hope to provide some useful references for other poor areas, methods and experiences obtained from Hongyan's successful exploitation have been summarized in this part.At the end of this thesis, the author will discuss problems existed in the current situation of Hongyan village. Though it has achieved much progress in its practice of eco-agriculture and tourism development, there are still inevitable disadvantages. The author will put forward some advisable suggestions and countermeasures on the basis of analyzing its current demerits. As an epitome of thousands of examples in China which had got rid of poverty through successful Tourism development, Hongyan's miracle tells us that reducing poverty through which is feasible. So under the premise of without destroying original culture and damaging environment, other areas can do designing and valuable exploitations in terms of different local conditions so as to bring along the coordinated development of other industries.
