With our information-based society in the process of speeding up, the pace of enterprise informationization construction also has been quickened to meet the customer's demands of product differentiation and individuation, to adapt to changing external environment, for the purpose of improving enterprise's core competitiveness. But with the in-depth process of enterprise informationization, enterprises started facing new problems such as swelling information, isolated islands of information and information chaos. Therefore, there is an urgent need for enterprises to introduce a new guiding ideology and practical tool for information management to solve such problems. As a new guiding ideology and method for information management, Enterprise Information Architecture (EIA) have arose a great deal of discussions in enterprise informationization research field. And more and more people consider it as an effective way to solve new problems of enterprise informationization. The paper introduces the development of the EIA theories, then analyzes and sum up the current theories and methods of EIA framework and its modeling. Then in the relevant research base, we design an EIA framework based on domain engineering and information reuse, and also explain primary models in the framework. To ensure the overall consistency of EIA, the paper summarizes the analysis of the above modeling methods then suggest that we can settle the inconsistency contradictions of models in the EIA framework by making use of the increasingly powerful UML. As for system high-level information model in the framework, which is modeling by WIED but not UML-based method, the paper designs a UML Profile for WIED model based on the UML extension mechanism so that it can support the transformation between WIED and UML, thus indirectly ensured the consistency of modeling. Finally, on the basis of the above research on EIA framework and its modeling, we discuss the further work on the improvement of the EIA framework, modeling methods and automatic model conversion.
