With the quickening of the urbanization and the industrialization of our country, large quantitiesof surplus labor forces in countryside, which come into being peasant workers, streamed to cities.They not only solve labor shortage problems in some developed areas, but also alleviate thesurplus labor employment pressure found in many underdeveloped areas. And peasant workersmake great contribution to our city's modernization and promote economic growth. However,owing to various constraints, the peasant workers' jobs are often high-risk and have a high rate ofoccupational diseases. They lack the necessary labor protection, so peasant workers are forced tosuffer these injury accidents and occupational diseases. In recent years more and more injuryaccidents and occupational diseases are emerged on the peasant workers. Therefore, a fitfulinjury insurance system for peasant workers should be established by our government.This text analyzes injury insurance problems for the peasant workers by combining the datamethod with theory analysis. The first part mainly introduces the emergence of the peasantworkers and the reasons of emergence, and summarizes their characteristics. The second partdescribes the current situation of the injury insurance for peasant workers generally. The thirdpart analyzes the main reasons of injury insurance problems for the peasant workers. The binaryregistered residence system is the institutional reason and the blind of the government to socialsecurity right of peasant workers is another important reason. Then this part analyzes theconcrete reasons from the government, the enterprise and the individual in the three angles. Thefourth part mainly analyzes the necessity which solves the injury insurance problems for peasantworkers. The fifth part is the key of this text and it addresses the policy recommendations oninjury insurance problems for peasant workers. There are some key problems that need to beresolved including reforming registered residence system, expanding the coverage, fixing thetreatment, etc.
