The Modeling And Simulation Research On The Cost Of 3PL Based On System Dynamics

The third-party logistics (3PL) came to this world at the late eighties in last century, having less than twenty years'history. The study on the cost of 3PL is the more weak links in 3PL research field at present. It is also the bottleneck restraining numerous 3PL enterprises from managing and developing. The existing researches on the cost of 3PL mainly concentrate on classifying, collecting and calculating for the individual 3PL event. There is few research on holding the logistics cost of 3PL as a whole to resolve"benefit carried inside out"problem.This thesis analyzes the cost of 3PL with the systematic view based on system dynamic. First, it summarizes the general operation process and mode on the basis of studying conclusion in the past. Secondly, after explaining the purpose of the establishing model, confirming the system border, finding out the relationship among the factors in the system, the thesis establishes the transportation system model and the inventory system model which take a large part of the cost in all logistics activities. Also, according to the relationship between transportation and inventory, the thesis establishes the aggregative model. Then, in the demonstration part, the thesis regards a specifical 3PL enterprise as the research object. It examines the validity of the model and simulates the transportation cost and the inventory cost in the following three years through inputting the parameter in the model. To the problems that the result appears, the thesis proposes four kinds of solutions with analyses. In the end, the thesis provides the policy suggestions for the 3PL enterprise.
