A market economy has developed in China for just only twenty years, flawlesssystems and criterions haven't been established up to now. However, the globalizationbrings the opportunities as well as the uncertainty; intercommunion; competition andcooperation to us. How to reply this challenge and set up a harmonious relationshipbetween the superior and subordinate has become an important issue to managers. Theexisting researches about the trust between the superior and subordinate always havetwo aspects: one is the research about the relationship between the superior andsubordinate, whose intention is to find out the trust antecedent and outcome variable;the other is the research about the manager' behavior, whose intention is to find outthe relationship between the behavior of the manager and trust. However, fewresearchers have realized the difference between up-ward and down-ward trust, andthere is lack of unitive dimensionality about the trust antecedent. Therefore it isnecessary to do research about the dissymmetric trust between the superior andsubordinate in the enterprise deeply and thoroughly. This research can enrich theexisting theory about the organizational trust, offer the attestation for the researchabout dissymmetric trust between the superior and subordinate. It is also useful formanagers to reduce the trade-off cost and establish a harmonious trust in the firm.The study discusses the compositor of the trust antecedent in both two directionsby studying the literature, interviewing the managers and handing out questionnaire.Person's proneness of trust and the quality of leader-member exchange are alsodiscussed.Following items are the hypothesis in the study:Hypothesis 1: the compositor of the trust antecedent in the down-ward direction is ability, morality, support.Hypothesis 2: the compositor of the trust antecedent in the up-ward direction ismorality, ability, attention.Hypothesis 3: the superior's proneness of trust will affect the down-ward trust.Hypothesis 4: the subordinate's proneness of trust will affect the up-ward trust.Hypothesis 5: the quality of leader-member exchange will affect the trustbetween the superior and subordinate.Empirical research method is used to validate these hypothesizes. 200 peoplewere investigated in our study. We use SPSS11.0 to analyze the data. The resultreveals that the hypothesizes 1, 4, 5 are validated well, but the hypothesizes 2 and 3have a little difference with the result. The result reveals that the compositor of thetrust antecedent in the up-ward direction is ability, attention, morality, and thesuperior's proneness of trust has inconspicuousness effect to the down-ward trust.
