Supply chain modeling and simulation is a hotspot in the field of supply chain management. It can be used to analyze, modify, rebuild and optimize the supply chain. Modeling can be performed to analyze the structure, organization and operation of the supply chain, and simulation can be used to check the bottleneck and improve it in succession. This paper gives the research on the supply chain modeling and simulation methods. It goes as follows:Firstly, the literatures of supply chain modeling and simulation in recent 20 years are reviewed. Based on the classification and comparison of these model and algorithm, the research subject and path of this paper is presented. Then a modeling framework based on SCOR, which including four hierarchies and seven views, is presented, and the relationship among the views are also given. After that, SCOR-EPC, a simulation method, is introduced to animate the supply chain process in the toolset of ARIS. In order to evaluate the results of the simulation and reengineering the supply chain process, an umbrella chart with five dimensions which derived form SCOR is used, and a set of regulating, optimizing and reengineering methods are summarized from a lot of supply chain best practices.Base on the theory above, the methods of modeling and simulation presented in this paper are applied to the outbound logistics which is in the distribution scope of SCOR. A solid outbound logistics model is constructed in ARIS, and SCOR-EPC is used to simulate the process model in the implementation level. In the finality, a case of outbound logistics in Bao Steel is given to show how to model and simulate the supply chain base on the methods presented in this paper. The case also shows the reliability and practicability of these methods.
