US is the No.1 of the developed countries, and China is the biggest one of the developing countries, Currently, the huge imbalance has affected normal economy and trade relations of two countries, thereby it is of theoretic and practical significance to research its reasons, which can make us realize correctly the advantages and disadvantages of our country correctly and formulate the corresponding policies to strengthen the industrial competitive advantage .Based on some correlative theories such as comparative advantage of international trade and international industry-shifting, and using the newest research results in correlative fields for reference the paper launch the research by means of combining quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis. In the first place, the present situation of trade imbalance between china and US is analyzed, and its character is induced from above. Afterwards, the reasons which resulted in the imbalance is divided into the intrinsic factor and the external one, each one being analyzed separately in the method which conjoints quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. Finally, on the groundwork of above , it was concluded that China-US trade imbalance resulted from many external and intrinsic reasons such as international division of labor, US policy of controlling exports, instable domestic macro-economy in America, industrial transferring and globalization of economy Thereby, China should avoid"the trap of comparative advantage", and strengthen our comparative advantage so as to make our industry enter higher steps and ladders ,as should polish up Sino-American relations of division of labor ,and reduce the trade deficit concomitantly.
