Investment, consumption and exportation are three engines which drive the national economy. Since the open policy in China, the investment and exportation have been increasing quickly and continuously, while the other engine, consumption, has been in a withering and adjusting condition, therefore the economic grows with only two engines. But with the economic development, this condition can't continue any more. The investment and exportation will be adjusted and the consumption will play a leading role in the economic growth. But the consumption demand in China is still in a fatigue condition. What restrains our country's consumption demand and where is the deep reason? This paper will discuss about this issue. From several points, the empirical analysis part of this paper analyzes the issue synthetically. First, it uses ELES model to regress the expenditure data of all residents of China lengthways and breadthwise respectively. Second, it uses investment and saving ratio to analyze the economic structure. Third, it uses Gini Coefficient to analyze the economic gap. Based on the empirical analysis above, the paper also studies the further reason of the issue. At last the paper concludes comprehensive and prominent factors and brings forward some suggestion correspondingly.
