In the current study of the consumption structure works, many writers is the study of the definition of the consumption structure, analysis the influence factors of the consumption structure, or research and in-depth analysis of the main characteristics of the consumption structure and how to rationalize the consumption structure, etc. There are also many author studies residents’ consumption structure, with the study of residents’ consumption structure in different provinces and cities, with the study of the consumption structure of urban residents, there is also a research analysis of the consumption structure of rural residents.In this paper, the author studies the Chongqing urban residents consumption structure, mainly studied the following contents:First,the combination of Chongqing urban residents’ consumption expenditure data in 2006-2013(food expenditure, spending on clothing, household spending on equipment, health care spending, traffic communication spending, spending on education and cultural living costs and miscellaneous spending eight aspects) the paper analyzes the current situation of Chongqing urban residents’ consumption structure.Second,based on the above Data using ELES model for analyzing the consumption structure, using the Panel Data model in this paper, the effect of income on the consumption structure, it is concluded that the Chongqing urban residentsconsumption structure existing problems and puts forward corresponding countermeasures.Third,once again, by using ELES model from 2014 to 2016 in the next three years on the prediction of the development trend of urban residents’ consumption structure in Chongqing.
