In the past 20 years service trade as a growing factor which has economic vigor with the development of the technology and the optimization of the world industry shows its more and more important role. With its overwhelming total volume of import and export service trade has become an integral part in international trade. Service trade developed late in China, but China must participate in the international competition on trade in service on the basis of the multilateral trading system which has been strictly observed by all the WTO members. Facing the fierce competition on international trade in service, a study on Chinese competition of service trade is so essential for enhancing the overall national competitiveness.This paper reviews the definition about the international service trade and the theory of international competitiveness. A deep comparative analysis between the comparative advantage and competitive advantage has been made in the paper. It comes to a conclusion, the comparative advantage is static, the competitive advantage is dynamic, but the both are necessary in enhancing the overall competitiveness. By illustrating the current developing situation of the service trade, the author uses the international market occupancy factor, comparative advantage index, revealed comparative advantage index and net export revealed comparative advantage index to analyze the competitive power of our country on service in trade basing on the service data of import and export. Basing on the conclusion made by the certain analysis and practical evaluation the author makes some useful suggestions on the efficient way to enhance service trade competitiveness in our country from the following aspects: optimize the structure of the service industry; pay more attention to the service marketing; actively explore international markets and develop multination service trade operation; improve the support of the government on the service policy.
