With the transformation of "industry economy" to "knowledge economy" and "service economy" of the global industries structure, industries are on updating and upgrading constantly. In this, the global economy and society are also on the transition process, and human beings have entered into an era of the "service society". The rise of the producer services industry has exerted huge impacts on development of the regional economy in the "service society".It is now just over ten years since the producer services industry's role in the regional economy, but there hasn't a whole ststem on the researching of the locatioinal models and dynamic mechanisms of the producer services industry, so it has begun to gain more attention with more researches on this coming into being. Based on researches on locational theories in this point, this thesis begans with analyzing of the characteristics of the service industry and its inherent locational meanings to explain producer services industry's spatial agglomeration and diffuse and to elicite its locational models and dynamic mechanisms; at the same time, analyzes the influences of producer services industry's location to the economy in different areas at different region levels, which lead to appropriate development strategies. In coherence with the above objectives, this thesis uses both empirical and quantitative analysis methods to discuss locational models and dynamic mechanisms of producer services industry. Structurally, it contains four main parts:The first part includes the first, second and third chapter and is the theories foundations, the research involving the introduction of abroad and domestic researches correlatively, began with the review of meanings, characters and particularities of producer services industry, analyzed the differentiates of services' production and industries' production, expounded their situation and trend on development, also, introduced some theories on their location. The second part concerns with chapter four and five. The chapter four discusses mainly its locational trends and the three lacational models at different region levels; the high-level and non-standard producer services industry have a trend toward spatial concentration, at the same time, there exists trend toward a spatial dispersal of some standard and low-level producer services industry. Three locational models include the dependence model, cental place hierarchy model and "centre-periphery" model. At the same time, it chooses to analyse employment distribution of the producer services industry in the Yangtze Delta Area as a case study. The chapter five sets out with the analysis and discussion of the six motivation factors and three dynamic mechanisms of their location, including non-standard production of producer services industry, the structural effect of organizations, the face-to-face contact needs during the produce and exchange of service goods, new information technology, local condition and environment and the national industry development planning and policy etc. The three dynamic mechanisms include scale economy, agglomation economy and competitional rent economy. The third part contains chapter six and seven. In this, the contribution of the producer services industry's distribution on development of the regional economy has been discussed in the chapter six. In sum, on the international level, contributes to the forming of a new international division of labor and global economy integrity, on the national level, the growth rates of producer services industry in different areas are rather uneven, forms a "centre-periphery" pattern on space and regional economy integrity. At the same time, the thesis brings forward three paths strategically in order to promote the growth of the producer services industry, involving agglomation development strategy; disperse development strategy and the development strategy of imbeding into the global linkage. Based on the above discussion, in chapter seven, conclusions have been made with some remaining problems about the dynamic mechanisms of producer services industry's location discussed above. The innovation of this thesis mainly lies on the three locational models and three dynamic mechanisms of distribution of the producer services industry, and at the same time, exposure of the impacts of location of the producer services industry on development of the national and regional economy at both the international and national levels. Based on these, three development strategies have been put forward.
