Research On The Mechanism And Course Of Interaction Between Port And City

For a long time, ports and port cities have interact on each other. Ports seem like doors that port cities open outward, and cities are like carriers through which ports can thrive and develop quickly. Cities rely on ports to develop their economies and ports depend on cities to promote their functions. The mutual dependence and improvement between ports and cities have being the general principle in the development of ports and cities all around the world.Recently, along with the fast development of the global economy, the amount of the international trade increasingly increases; as a result, the ports and cities show new spatial and functional characteristics. The international shipping center is the advanced combination of ports and cities, which plays an important part in construction, development of the district. Dalian is the important harbor in north-China, nowadays Dalian is faced with an important opportunity to become the main northeast Asian international shipping center, which demands extraordinary cooperation between Dalian port and Dalian city.This paper states from the elements, then expatiates the theory of mutual cooperation between ports and cities, especially the structure of impetus and course. Then the paper introduces the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to study the mutual development between the Dalian port and the city, and coordination degree is given. Finally, conclusions and reasonable suggestion are given.
