In a world of intense competition, many firms focus on the ways to keep innovating and obtain core competency. In this article, Google is chosen as the firm to be observed. Through the analysis of its rapid growth, I try to find out the momentum behind, and to apply it in the developing of Chinese enterprises.This thesis is divided into five chapters:Chapter One tells about the background of this study, the way of research and the framework of this thesis.Chapter Two describes the origin of Google and the important stages of its growth, which form the basics of further study.Chapter Three summarizes the characteristics of Google firstly. Secondly, it analyzes Google's development strategy in two respective ways: from the view of competition within an industry, analyze its differentiation strategy applying Porter 5 forces analysis; from the view beyond the scope of an industry, analyze its"blue ocean"strategy applying the value innovation theory of W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne. Thirdly, it further analyzes the possible future development of Google and its competition against Microsoft.Chapter Four analyzes the whole environment of Google and how it gets adequate resources from this environment.Chapter Five offers Chinese enterprises the edification from Google's development, presents them a series of steps to get gradual improvement in the global market.
