| Guangdong province, as one of the most high-speed developing regions in China, has attracted attentions from all of the world because of its high-speed manufacturing industry. Based on its export-oriented economy and its similar regional condition of each city, Guangdong province has formed a group of manufacturing industry clusters with much influence and competitiveness. These manufacturing industry clusters include not only traditional industry clusters, such as textile industry and food manufacturing, but also fresh industries, such as electronic information industry and electric equipment and special purposes equipment industry.Among all the studies on manufacturing industry clusters of Guangdong province, there are a lot of qualitative analysis studies while quantitative analysis studies are few. In this paper, at first it introduces five advantages of manufacturing industry in Guangdong province, such as: cost advantage, difference advantage, high efficiency advantage, innovation advantage , trademark advantage, and then it explains how manufacturing industry clusters affects regional economy from four aspects: first , they can bring market cluster effect; second, they can promote the structure of regional economy; third, they can bring the flowing effect of the market innovation ; fourth , they can promote the regional economy developing by attracting more foreign capital. At last this paper calculates the concentrative degree of each manufacturing industry cluster and the cluster effect of each and the whole manufacturing industry.In the empirical analysis of the paper, it calculates the elasticity of manufacturing industry competitiveness to regional competitiveness. At last, the paper analyzes the problem which exists in the development of the manufacturing industry cluster in Guangdong and raises some suggestion on how to improve the competitiveness of manufacturing industry cluster. |
