Supply chain management (SCM) is a modern management skill which actualizes synthesis, plan, control and coordination of the whole chain structure supplier, manufacturer, distributor, retailer and customer, as well as an advanced management that emphasizes horizontal integration, resource-sharing and win-win. SCM is an important research field of science at present, and optimizing problem is the key of supply chain management. In supply chain, distribution system is the most important linkage. While the selection of the distributors takes a crucial role in judging whether the distribution system fixes in with the enterprise's tactic, which is not only the sign to measure the level of supply chain management but also the most key factor to determine the competition capability of supply chain. However, in the complex new market environment nowadays, the inferior position of traditional distribution system is increasingly in evidence, especially on the conflicts of efficiency, cost and controllability. Furthermore, the non-cooperation relation between vendors and buyers in traditional distribution system has greatly restricted the communication between manufacturer and customer and the efficiency of distribution system. So the study on the evaluation system of the distributors has both the academic meaning and the indicative value to the practice.The text is divided into four parts totally, generalizing as follows: (1) started with the purpose and meaning of the study, this thesis points out the distributor acts as the bridge in the supply chain management. In the complex and new market environment, the focus is what kind of distributorShould be selected and how to choose the distributor in order to reach the requirement for saving more cost; (2) this thesis summarizes the theories of SCM and the related ones. And it analyses decision-making model of SCM from the points of supplier, manufacturer and distributor; (3)he thesis analyses the competition advantages of the distribution channel from the sides of company stratagem, tactic resources and key competency, value chain setting, finished goods/services and subdividing market and lays out the valuation of distribution channel in SCM;(4) in the end, the thesis analyses the position and function of distributor in SCM and expounds the types of the distributor. Also it indicates some misunderstanding in selection and finally establishes the standards for choosing the proper distributor.
