The Demonstration Analysis Of The Income Disparity In Jiangxi(1990～2004)

Since the 1980s, GDP of Jiangxi has been growing rapidly. However, a widening gap between rich and the poor appears with rapid economic growth and runs against our purpose to build a harmonious society and the full realization of the goal of building a well-off society. It's a very important social and political issue to deal with the problem of Expanding. And it should be highly paid attention during the development of economy and society. According to ((Statistical Yearbook of Jiangxi)) (1991～2005), this paper analyses the problems of Jiangxi income disparity from qualitatively and quantitatively , discusses the main factors which have influenced the Jiangxi income disparity. And I try to give my opinions and suggestions on the hot issue. The paper will be divided into five parts:First, I review and assess the theory and methodology of the income distribution in home and abroad. According to the actual status of Jiangxi, I build the theoretical frame and method for this paper.Second, I study the whole situation of and the income disparity of the different industries, regions, and rural or urban areas for the past 15 years.Third, I analysis all kinds of important factors quantitatively that affect the Gini index and Theil index to be determined.Fourth, I analyses the factors that affect the income distribution of residents on the base of the models.Finally, the corresponding measures and suggestions are given based on the front analysis.It shows that Gini index of Jiangxi is rising annually and reaches 0.418 at 2000, which already exceed the alert level of 0.400. In addition, Theil index has increased to 0.05 in 2004 from 0.014 in 1990.The trend of income disparity polarizing is highly obvious. It should be paid seriously attention for decision-making organizations, government bureaus and all the other people who concerns economic and social development.
