With the development of social economy and urbanization, requisition for farmland continues to show an upward tendency; consequently, considerable farmers have been losing their lands. They have become so-called "three-no-farmers", that is, farmers without farmlands, jobs and subsistence allowances. As the most disadvantaged group in China nowadays, they are a source of trouble, greatly threatening the stability and harmony of our society. Therefore, how to deal with the farmers losing land is becoming increasingly important, which attracts much attention from both the theory researchers and policy makers. After carrying out a field investigation of a development zone in Zhangzhou, this paper tries to clarify some problems existing in farmland requisition and compensation; and after sizing up those farmers' life, employment and social security situation, this paper also proposes that a feasible and reasonable social security system should be established.
