Regional Economic Disparity And Spatial Structure Change Of Jiangxi Province

Content: Regional economic disparity is a common phenomenon during regional economy developing. Being a developing 'country, China has being affected by regional developing unbalance. Jiangxi province, a large agriculture province in the middle part of China, has gained a enormous achievement of economic construction since reform and open policy in 1980s. However the economic disparity within the regions is increasingly expanding. So, studying inside economic disparity within Jiangxi province and the spatial structure change have an important theoretic and realistic significance, which is helpful for seeking the way of solving the questions of regional economic disparity and promoting the sustainable development of Jiangxi's economy.Firstly, this paper summarizes the researches on regional economic disparity of home and aboard. Secondly, this paper distinguishes between the definitions, research methodes and research time sequence of regional economic disparity. In the end, it put forward itself research view on the base of analyzing regional economic disparity in Jiangxi province.According to regional economic relevant theories, this paper researches on Jiangxi regional economic disparity and the spatial structure change from 1990 to 2004 with the county territory as the unit. This paper firstly has a comparative analysis of per capita economic strength and total economic level in every county and city, and the corresponding changes. On this basis, regional economic disparity of the adjusted 11 cities, 10 cities of town and 68 counties and their changes are researched using the two methods of single per capita GDP and indicator system respectively. It can make up the shortage of single indicator, and combine the simpleness of single indicator and the integrality of indicator system. In the paper, the analysis of indicator system is on the principal component analysis of 89 counties and cities in Jiangxi province through statistic analysis software SPSS12.0. Meanwhile, this paper figures out synthesis value of economic development in counties and cities. Then it goes on cluster analysis of Q type by using software SPSS12.0 again. Above these, the 89 counties and cities in Jiangxi province can be divided into six different hiberarchy regionalization of economic region. Ultimately, regional economic disparities of Jiangxi province and the corresponding change courses performed by software ARCGIS according to the demonstration analyzing results, it brings forward the pertinent policy advices on the actual status and changed trend through the analysis on the causes of regional economic disparity in Jiangxi province.The paper draws these conclusions as follows: 1,the total absolute disparity and relative disparity of regional economy in 89 counties and cities of Jiangxi province are expanding year by year, but the speed of expanding is lower than before. 2,the developed counties and cities of Jiangxi province mostly distribute the north area of Jiangxi, especially along Beijing-Jiulong railway and Zhejiang-Jiangxi railway. 3,regional economic disparity of the south area of Jiangxi province and the north area of Jiangxi province is rather great. No matter the absolutely disparity or the relative disparity , regional economic disparity within the north area of Jiangxi province is greater than within the south.4,In contrast with the north area of Jiangxi province, the south area lacks the strong economic growth pole and the entire industry structure is lag, therefore the economy of the south area grows slowly.
