Measurement And Analysis Of Influential Factors Of Regional Economic Differences In Jiangxi Province Based On County Scale

Regional economic differences are the core issue of regional economics research.With the regional coordinated development strategy rising to the national strategy,regional economic differences have become a hot topic in academic research.The county area is an important spatial unit of regional economic development,Analyzing the regional economic differences in Jiangxi Province from the county-level scale,especially the pattern evolution characteristics of regional economic differences in Jiangxi Province since the reform and opening up,is of great significance for realizing the coordinated development of regional economy in Jiangxi Province under the new era.To this end,this paper comprehensively applied the Theil index and the convergence Analysis method to study the evolution of regional economic differences in Jiangxi Province since 1978;then used the Markov chain and Exploratory spatial data statistical methods to reveal the regional economy differences in the spatial pattern and the characteristics of type evolution of Jiangxi Province.On this basis,the spatial filtering component was constructed to analyze the effect of spatial correlation between counties economic differences in Jiangxi Province,and a spatial filtering panel measurement model was established to analyze the influencial factors of regional economic differences in Jiangxi Province.The research showed:(1)Since the reform and opening up,the regional economic differences in Jiangxi Province generally narrowed down.However,the regional economic differences had expanded from 1978 to 1987 and significantly reduced from 1987 to2000,then expanded steadily since 2000.From the results of Theil index decomposition of the four regions of northern,northeastern,western and central-southern Jiangxi province,the regional economic differences in Jiangxi Province are mainly inter-county differences,and the inter-county differences in Shangrao City,Jiujiang City and Ji’an City were quite obvious;from the results of Theil index decomposition based on the “ lake-basin ”,the regional economic differences in Jiangxi Province are mainly reflected in the inter-county differences inthe Poyang Lake,Ganjiang and Xinjiang basins.(2)From 1978 to 2016,the per capita GDP evolution of counties in Jiangxi Province showed significant absolute β convergence,which indicated that some counties with relatively backward economic development in Jiangxi Province had achieved faster economic development.However,as the more developed“advanced”counties were also developing,they still belonged to the low-level echelon of economic development.(3)There was a significant spatial positive correlation between the economic development levels of 78 counties in Jiangxi Province,and the spatial agglomeration effect was characterized by low-low agglomeration.Among them,the low-low concentration area spread around the center of Ruijin City,Yudu County,Gan County and Anyuan County.(4)Spatial correlation contributes 9.8% to the difference of regional economic level in Jiangxi Province,which indicated the economic spatial relationship between counties in Jiangxi Province had increased regional economic differences in Jiangxi Province.In addition,industrial structure,capital investment,marketization level,openness and urbanization level were the main factors affecting regional economic differences in Jiangxi Province.
