As a newly burgeoned business type, E-Business for Tourism is rising in large paces with its dominance of high efficiency and low cost. It not only represents the direction of Tourism Industry development, but also works as import means for Tourism Corporations in participating global competition. E-Business for Tourism brings both significant opportunities and severe challenges to the domestic tourism market. The tourism market in western areas lags behind comparatively; hence, the studies on how to grasp the opportunities and face up the challenges created by E-business for Tourism, and what are the effective measures to solve bottleneck problem show great practical significance.The thesis begins with the definition and function of E-business and its relevant theories. Based on the analysis of E-business definition, the writer illuminates the current situation of E-business for Tourism home and abroad and points out the existing problems and gap in domestic market and anticipates its further development prospect.For the second place, through analysis on the opportunities, challenges and advantages, disadvantages of tourism development in western areas, the writer points out the obstacles that restrict the tourism development, which include poor tourism products promotion, small customer database and limited products range, etc. Furthermore, the author clarifies that the development of E-busines for Tourism s is the strategy to expand the development of western tourism market.Thirdly, based on the comparison in E-business for Tourism development and construction of tourism websites between western & eastern cities (Suzhou & Xi'an), the writer attaches more attention to the bottleneck problems that block the E-business for Tourism development in western areas.
